Montgomery Dam and Harbor Park

This project is part of a multi-year effort led by the Town of Camden and the citizen-led Megunticook River Community Advisory Committee. The primary goal of the initiative is to improve the ecological health and climate resilience of the Megunticook River. Prior to Tandem’s involvement, the project began with a thorough ecological inventory, an engineering assessment of the river’s seven dams, and community engaged sessions.

In 2024, as Design Principal at Viewshed, Eamonn was engaged to facilitate community engagement and landscape architectural design associated with the Montgomery Dam, which sits at the confluence of the river and Camden’s inner harbor. With a considerable amount of technical assessments and community guidance in hand, Eamonn's role entailed synthesizing this information into viable, clear and compelling design scenarios for the dam. Eventually the design scope encompassed the adjacent, historic Harbor Park where Eamonn led the development of climate adaptive design and improved public access to the water.
